  has anyone ever tried to follow the money the wtbs collect?

  it's almost as bad as watching a shell game in new york city.

  here is one of my biggest problems... the building fund.

  couple this where they 'dismissed' this man from the 'church' of smoking with the evidence of their 'covert' investment in the same cigarette company.

  whats in your personal bible or religious library?

  let's see what i have... cambridge kjv (really nice, calfskin leather), cambridge reb (really nice, not as good as kjv though), 50 year old douay rheims (with annoying jw notes and written-in textual changes inside, courtesy jw great-grandmother), rsv-ce (imitation leather, looks extremely cheap), nab (imitation leather, looks better but sucky confraternity notes in it).

  that's my bible collection (i got rid of the nwt).

  i have a relative still 'in' that might accept that the 'food at the proper time' was missing here!

  i think i used to have a copy of the booklet 40 years ago - but it is long gone.

  i just got my hands on a copy of my book of bible stories ... (1978).

  at first i was excited when a friend pulled it out of his bag, said he'd gotten it as a kid.

  then i started flipping through, looking at the pictures, feeling the memories spin in my brain.

  they have nice cars and big homes.if you put jehovah first, he will take care of you financially.".

  i don't believe god does this kind of thing - otherwise, why are there so many poor elders in developing countries who can't even afford a bicycle to get around?

  don't feel the least bit guilty about criticising the watchtower or posting here!

  never forget that the watchtower could.

  eliminate nearly all 'apostate' opposition - if it cared to do so - merely by reforming this cold, legalistic cult that they've built.. if the watchtower really cared for it's young people - if it really took care of its aged - if it really bothered to emphasize bible.
